Prachyanat's School of Acting and Design has celebrated its 15 years through daylong programmes at the Shilpakala Academy, Dhaka.
The celebration began with a colourful rally wearing masks and waving festoons on the streets near the venue on Friday morning.
During the event, Snata Shaharin and her group performed Mayurbhonjo Chhou, an Indian classical dance, with the theme “Fighting evil with the strength of arts."
On the other hand, the former students from all the 29 batches – now members of Prachyanat – performed three separate plays and a short drama in three groups.
Theater personality Mamunur Rashid inaugurated the event in the afternoon. Mount Everest conquerors Nishat Majumdar and MA Muhith were also present.
At the end of the day, the outgoing 30th batch of the theatre school performed “Sirajuddaula” under the direction of Jogonmoy Paul.
Later theatre artist and organiser Milon Kanti Dey handed over certificates to the students of the 30th batch.
