A Dhaka Court on Tuesday placed two activists of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD), student wing of the main opposition BNP, on a seven-day remand on charge of hurling bombs at the residence of Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu on June 9.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Atiqur Rahman passed the order at about 3pm in response to a 10-day remand plea filed by DB inspector Nibaran Chandra Barman.

Detective Branch of police on Monday night arrested two students in connection with their involvement in hurling cocktails at the residence of Information Minister Hasanul Huq Inu on June 9.

The detainees are Mahbub and Akil.

Masudur Rahman, deputy commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (Media), said they were arrested along with the motorbike which was used in the bomb attack.

Four cocktails were thrown at the residence of Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu in the capital’s Dar-us-Salam area on June 9.

The minister was not at home at the time and no one else was injured. On June 9, Inu's son Ashfaqul Haque filed the case with Darus Salam police station under explosive act.

On May 28, three crude bombs were hurled at the official residence of Foreign Minister Dipu Moni in the capital’s Eskaton area.
