He faces arrest soon after attending a press conference

BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia's Adviser Khandaker Mahbub Hossain was arrested from the capital's National Press Club on Tuesday afternoon.

Krishnapada Roy, deputy commissioner of the Detective Branch (DB) Police, confirmed the arrest to the Dhaka Tribune.

The law enforcers detained Khandaker Mahbub around 2pm when he was leaving the Press Club after attending a discussion where he termed the 10th general elections “farcical polls."

The detained vice-chairman of Bangladesh Bar Council was taken to the DB headquarters, he said.
