Once you land in Phuket, there wouldn't be another minute of boredom in your life. However, you cannot afford to miss these ethereal travel gems this city has to offer.
Phi Phi Islands
There are speedboats available which will take you on a day long trip to these islands. A little bargaining might help you get a pretty reasonable discount. The cliffs, flora and the blue beaches are more beautiful in reality than shown in movies. Something uninhabited and free of any hustle-bustle of city life, the trip to these islands will surely be an utterly surreal experience.
Located in Kamala Beach, this amusement park is colourful, bold and fun to visit. The highlight of this theme park is the Phuket Fantasea – a grand performance which uses both modern technology such as smoke, explosions, lasers, etc. and combines them with their cultural elements such as different Thai dance forms, shadow puppets and authentic wardrobe style.
If the stage performance does not fulfil your hunger, eating at the The Golden Kinnaree Buffet Restaurant which has a seating arrangement for 4000 people will do it for you. They serve both authentic Thai cuisine as well as the international ones.
Wat Chalong Temple
This 19th century temple is the largest in the city. One of the gigantic additions to the temple grounds is a 60-metre tall “Chedi.” Climb all the way up to the third floor of this structure for a good view of the holy ground. Buy souvenirs from the shops right outside the temple gates. If you are lucky maybe your visit will coincide with one of the fairs which are popular for their food items, local games and stage performances.
Phuket Muay Thai
Why should girls have all the fun? Enjoy the action-packed national sport of Thailand while you’re out and about. Visit the Patong Beach area, to enjoy Thai Boxing tournaments at their specially built stadiums on Soi Sai Namyen.
Old Phuket Town
Experience the old war charm amid shrines, temples, ornate and the beautifully preserved “shophouses,” cafés, tiny printing shops and private and public museums. There are several regional restaurants to tingle with your taste bud.
