Fire ravaged another slum on Monday night at Mohakhali

A fire broke out in Johuri Moholla slum near Bihari Patti in Dhaka’s Mohammadpur. 

Anisur Rahman, a Fire Service and Civil Defence operator, said 10 firefighting units were dispatched to the scene on Babar Road after receiving news around 4:15pm Tuesday.

“We are yet to identify the cause behind the fire,” he added.

A team led by Abul Basar, deputy director of Fire Service and Civil Defence, visited the spot.

Earlier on Monday night, around 100 shanties and small makeshift shops were destroyed in a fire which originated at the “Sattola Bosti” in Dhaka’s Mohakhali area.
