An old man was killed when he was hit by a train in Malibagh Railgate area of the capital.
The deceased was 60 years old and wearing a checked lungi and winter clothes.
The accident took place at around 5pm on Tuesday. He was taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital in a critical condition and died at 10pm last night in ward no 103 while undergoing treatment.
Pedestrian Shaheen said: "Some of us saw the old man in a bloody condition at Malibagh railgate. Traffic Officer (TSI) Zakari Hossain sent us to DMCH along with the old man where he succumbed to his death.”
Mohammad Bachchu Mozia, in-charge of the DMCH police outpost, confirmed the incident and said that the dead body has been kept in the DMCH morgue for autopsy.
The railway police has been informed about the incident, he said.
