The Dubai Airports group announced on Tuesday that it is now offering the world’s fastest, free airport Wi-Fi across all terminals, reports the Gulf News.
The group said the airport Wi-Fi network has been upgraded so that flyers can now enjoy up to 100mbps when they connect to the network.
The group owns and manages two airports, Dubai International (DXB) and Al Maktoum International or Dubai World Central (DWC), both of which will be offering high speed internet.
The group also said they are installing 6,000 new Wi-Fi access points throughout the two airports to accommodate the huge international passenger traffic. Dubai International is the busiest airport in the world in terms of international passenger traffic, and third busiest in terms of all passenger traffic.
Last year, the US and Thailand were leading the pack in terms of fastest airport Wi-Fi speeds, according to a survey by Rotten Wi-Fi, but the city in the UAE claims it has now surpassed its competition.
The new network is called WOW-Fi and will give users free and unlimited access to high speed internet.
