Did you know that a crater on Mercury is named after a famous Bangladeshi painter? If you did, props to you. If you did not, well, no big deal.
In 2008, Nasa's Messenger spacecraft performed a flyby around Mercury and discovered a series of craters near its northern region.
One of the more larger craters was named after the father of Bangladeshi modern art - Shilpacharya Zainul Abedin.

The crater was named after the 20th century painter from The Dictionary of Art. Nasa honoured Zainul among several other painters and writers by naming the newfound planetary locations.
The International Astronomical Union approved the name among several others in 2009.
