
A student lost his eyesight after getting slapped by a teacher in Meerut city of Uttar Pradesh in India.
The grade V student goes to Sharadan Public School, where he was reaching a classmate to collect his notebook in the middle of a class.
During that time, the teacher slapped the child hard on the back side of his head, reports
Business Standard.
The family of the child said the membrane of his eye burst when the teacher struck him strongly from behind.
The family claimed that observing the condition of the child after he had gone back home after the incident, they immediately complained to the school administration against the teacher. In response, they were treated with "abusive" behaviour.
Later on, the family informed the superintendent of police about the incident and was assured justice.
