Policeman ridiculed on Facebook for riding motorbike on footpath
A Facebook post of a photo depicting a policeman riding a motorbike on the footpath has recently prompted a large number of mocking comments and reactions. Posted in a Facebook group titled "Traffic Alert", created to give people information on the vehicular movements inside Dhaka city at any given time, the photo shows a policeman, to avoid being caught in the traffic jam on the streets, using the footpath to ride his motorbike. The location and the time when the photo was taken remain unclear. People have reacted by making various mocking comments on the photo, including one person saying that maybe he (the policeman) was riding on the footpath to catch other people committing similar acts. [caption id="attachment_257505" align="aligncenter" width="1024"] Some of comments from the Facebook post[/caption] Another mocked that the policeman could do whatever he wanted because he was the 'real Nawab' of Dhaka city. Others have criticized how the law enforcers themselves were breaking the law, yet getting away with it without facing any consequences. According to the Road Transportation Act 2017, one shall be liable to three months imprisonment and a fine of Tk35,000 for driving motorbikes over footpath.
