Hindu couple, Anju and Ashokan, tied the knot amidst the crowded premises of Cheravally Muslim Jamath Mosque on Sunday, reports Times of India.
The marriage took place according to Hindu tradition and practices, and was solemnised by a Hindu priest.
According to the report, the bride's mother had been struggling financially since the death of her husband two years ago. While she struggled to save money for Anju’s wedding, her neighbor who is a Jamaath secretary, suggested she approach the Jamaath committee.
She did exactly that and found that Jammath committee was willing to help.
Apart from hosting the wedding, the mosque committee also served a vegetarian ‘sadya’ to around 1,000 guests, added The Hindu.
Members of both the Hindu and Muslim communities turned out in large numbers to witness the marriage.
