Shahed first travelled to Abu Dhabi at the age of 15
Shahed Ahmed Moulvifaiz, a 55-year-old Bangladeshi expatriate who runs a car workshop, has won Tk23 crore (Dh10 million) in the latest Big Ticket draw in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
The winner, who is from Chittagong, said this was his first victory in the Big Ticket after participating for over 30 years, according to the Big Ticket website as quoted by Gulf News. He bought the winning ticket for draw 226 on March 26.
Shahed plans to use his winnings to bring his family to the UAE, as well as to build a house in Bangladesh.
“I plan to do these two things. We will see about the rest. I am very happy, it is the first time I have won,” Shahed told Gulf News.
The Bangladeshi expatriate has been living in Al Ain for 40 years, having first travelled there at the age of 15.
The Big Ticket was first established at Abu Dhabi International Airport in 1992.
