Two hacked to death in Lakshmipur

Two people have been hacked to death by unknown assailants at Rajibpur village under sadar upazila in Lakshmipur. The villagers spotted their bodies laying on a field on Friday morning and informed local police. The corpses of Ismail Hossain Manik and Kamrul Islam were sent to the district hospital morgue for autopsy. The two's family members claimed that someone called them out of their residences over mobile phone around 1am and local people traced their bodies in the morning. Manik's daughter Jeny said local terrorists, namely Ripon and Songram, recently threatened her father with death. Lakshmipur Assistant Superintendent of Police (circle) Md Nasim Miah said: “Manik and Kamrul were accused in several cases including drugs and snatching. We initially suspect that enmity over drug smuggling led to the killing.”
