The exhibition will feature three separate events
Bangladesh Art Week, Dubai, has begun, featuring three distinct but related events within Dubai and internationally renowned and established Bangladeshi artists alongside invited younger artists.
Curated by Bangladesh Art Week Founder Niharika Momtaz and Rama Ganhem, members of this group have exhibited in prestigious events, such as Venice Biennale, Documenta, Victoria & Albert Museum, Arnhem Museum, Solomon R Guggenheim, Sharjah Biennale, Kettle’s Yard, Frieze performance, India Art Fair and Dhaka Art Summit. Some of them are represented by galleries like project88, and Exhibit320.
These invited artists represent the burgeoning, vibrant, socially conscious and bold community of artists that live and work throughout Bangladesh. Their strength emerges through the diverse forms of representation that their work encompasses; whilst reflecting their own distinct perceptions of a unique geographical environment.
The exhibitions encompass sculpture, photography, mixed media construction, site specific installations, works on paper and film presentations.
Foundry by Emaar and Gulf Photo Plus are the partners in the exhibition.
The event “Identity. Who are you… Today?” will be held at the Foundry Gallery 5 from September 20 to November 20. The event “Undefined territory” will be held at Gulf Photo Plus’ Alserkal Avenue from September 22 to November 7. And the event “Connection. International Creative Residency Program” is being held from September 9 to 23.
