Noakhali boat capsize death toll rises to 4

Rescuers have fished out two more bodies from the Choto Feni River where an overcrowded tourist boat sank on Wednesday. The bodies of the girls recovered on Friday morning took the death toll in the tragedy to four. Families identified them as Rabita, 13, and Bibi Fatema, 12. They were students at Charfakira Azgor Ali Dakhil Madrasa, a teacher from the institution confirmed. An overcrowded engine boat carrying local tourists capsized at Companyganj upazila's Musapur on Wednesday afternoon. The bodies of Kamrun Nahar Fancy, 18, and three-year-old Marjahan Akter were recovered shortly after the accident. Some of the passengers managed to swim to the shore but five others, including a child, had gone missing. Rescuers saw the bodies of Rabita and Fatema floating in the river on Friday, just north of where the boat had sunk, locals said. Companyganj Fire Service's Station Officer Azizul Haque said they had been scouring the river since Wednesday looking for passenger still missing since the accident.
