Gazipur RMG factory catches fire

A fire has broke out at a ready-made garments factory in Chandra Palli Bidyut area of Kaliakoir upazila in Gazipur. The fire ensued on the second floor of a five-storey building of Tropical Composite Factory in the area at about 12:45am on Saturday and soon spread to other floors, said Apurba Bal, station officer of Kaliakoir fire service station. On information, 13 firefighting units from Gazipur, Joydebpur, Mirzapur, Savar EPZ and Kaliakoir fire stations rushed to the spot and were trying to bring the blaze under control. Till updating of this report at 11am, the fire fighters could not manage to douse the fire. The reason behind the fire could not be known yet. Apurba Bal told the Dhaka Tribune that machinery, threads, cloths and other valuables were damaged in the fire.
