Schoolgirl killed in wall collapse
The incident took place early Wednesday when she was asleep in her room, says Dhaka Medical College Hospital police outpost In-charge SI Bachchu Miah. Deceased Kulsum Akhter Nishi, daughter of Harun-or-Rashid, was a student of class-IX at Shotota Model High School in Mirpur. The SI said the wall of a two-storied building, also known as Bhoboghurey building as police use the facility to shelter destitute and acid victims, fell on Nishi's tin-shed house in New Block-C of the area around 3:30am leaving her critically injured. Locals and fire fighters rescued and took her to DMCH where physicians declared her dead around 5am. Nishi’s body has been kept in the DMC morgue for autopsy.
