BNP finally acknowledges receiving invitation to AL council

He made the acknowledgement during a press briefing at BNP’s central office on Thursday morning where he also announced a 10-day programme for November 7, the day they celebrate as “Solidarity for the Revolution Day”. Fakhrul said Awami League had also received an invitation to BNP’s national council held in March but declined to attend. “Awami League had an opportunity then to revive a culture of positive politics but they did not take the chance,” he said. A five-member team led by Mrinal Kanti Das MP, deputy office secretary of Awami League, handed over the invitation card to Fakhrul at BNP’s Nayapaltan office around 11am on Thursday. A little later, Sairul Kabir Khan denied receiving the invitation although many journalists and party activists were present during the handover.
