It was learnt that the city unit Jubo Dal led by its Convenor Maksudul Alam Khandaker and Narayanganj unit BNP President Toimur Alam Khandaker brought out a procession around 11am to observe its 38th birth anniversary.
Police put a bar when the rally reached local BNP office parading the Mandalpara bridge and the move created scuffle between both sides.
Police charged batons to bring the situation under control leaving three activists including Jubo Dal Joint Convenor Rana Mujib injured.
Later, the activists hold a rally there in which the district unit President and also BNP Chairperson Adviser Toimur said: “The country has turned into the police state and the government does not believe in free of expression establishing Baksal. Police have attacked our peaceful procession.”
Narayanganj Sadar model police station SI Shafiqul Islam said: “Some unruly youths have approached us following throwing a warning of attack to us from the Jubo Dal procession. Then we have prevented them.”
