A Bangladeshi was shot dead by some Indian citizens on Sonarhat border, Gowainghat upazila, Sylhet on Wednesday morning.
According to BGB and police sources, when Bacchu Miah, 35, son of late Abdul Gafur, a resident of Pacchim Comilla Bosti area, tried to enter the Indian territory, a group of Indian people belong to Khasia community opened fire at him.
The bullet-injured Bacchu managed to come back to Bangladeshi territory and he died there.
Officer-in-charge of Gowainghat police station Delwar Hossain said the body was sent to Osmani Medical College Hospital for an autopsy.
