Defamation complaint against Minister Sayedul

Supreme Court lawyer M Aminul Islam submitted the complaint before Metropolitan Magistrate Abdullah Al Mahmud's court on Tuesday, reports UNB. According to the complaint, Minister Sayedul at a press conference in Brahmanbaria on Monday said Sadar MP and also President of the district unit AL Obaidur Rahman Chowdhury and the unit's General Secretary Al-Mamun picked two candidates for the upazila and union parishad elections in exchange for money. Following his statement, AL activist M Aminul Islam adopted the move and the court fixed November 14 to give an order on the complaint. After the Nasirnagar violence, Minister Sayedul created uproar across the country with his derogatory remarks on the Hindus living in the upazila. However, he denied the allegations.
