SUST student put on 10-day remand over militancy
The accused is – Abdullah Jubair Mukta, 21, a second year student of Civil & Environmental Engineering department of SUST and son of SM Nurul Alam, a resident of Kalikapur village under Baraigram upazila, Natore. Chief Metropolitan Magistrate of Sylhet Saifuzzaman Hero passed the order while SI of Sylhet Katwali police station produced him before the court and sought 10-day remand. Earlier, police arrested Mukta on Monday night while he was distributing leaflets of Hizb ut Tahrir in Munshipara area in the city along with leaflets, two cell phones and pen drives. Later, Anjon Chowdhury, sub-inspector of Katwali police station filed a case under Anti Terrorism (Amendment) Act, 2013.
