The Mirpur office of the Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) received several accusations of corruption by its officials in a public hearing held on its premises on Wednesday.
BRTA Chief Md Nazrul Islam along with other senior officials were present to hear various issues and problems faced by its clients.
Around 25 people who received services from the office were invited to the event and they raised accusations of corruption against the BRTA officials, Ansar members and the brokers active on the premises.
The clients complained to have faced severe hassles at the BRTA office over issues such as ownership change, vehicle registration, driving licence application and renewal, and managing digital number plate.
The BRTA chief said the culprits would be brought to book and requested the clients not to indulge in any unauthorised financial transaction with anyone on the BRTA compound.
