BCC staff abstain from work

According to sources, payments of 500 staffs have not been given for last two months. They organised several programmes demanding their salaries but the authorities ignored it. They also brought out a procession and encircled the office of executive officer in the morning. BCC mayor Ahsan Habib Kamal called an urgent meeting around 2pm with ward councilors in this regard. Md Waheduzzman, executive officer of BCC said he had discussed the matter with Ahsan Habib. “The payments of the staffs will be given soon,” he also said. “The problem has risen as revenue collection of BCC is less than the salaries of the staffs,” he added.
