3 more held over Nasirnagar attacks

Ahammad Ali, 45, Md Tabakar Hossain, 45, and Md Saddam Hossian, 28, were detained from Poshchimpara area on Monday morning. Nasirnagar OC Md Abu Jaffar confirmed the detention, reports Bangla Tribune. He said: “They were detained after seeing the footage of the attack. They will be sent to the court.” A total of 112 people have so far been arrested in eight cases filed in connection with the attacks on the Hindu community. A mob vandalised at least 10 temples and ransacked hundreds of houses belonging to the Hindus on October 30 in protest against an alleged defamatory Facebook post by a Hindu youth, Rasraj Das. Over 100 people were injured in the attack which the victims blamed on local influential people. Police concluded that Rasraj had not uploaded the morphed photo from his profile.
