Wall collapse kills labourer in Dhaka

A female labourer has been killed and another worker injured after the wall of an under-construction building collapsed in the capital's Baridhara. The dead worker has been identified as Bedana, 40. The other victim is Khalek. Fire service headquarters Duty Officer Mizanur Rahman said the wall caved in around 10am on Thursday. “We were initially informed that four people were trapped under the rubble but we found only two,” he told the Dhaka Tribune. They were rushed to Kurmitola General Hospital but Bedana later succumbed to her injuries in hospital.
