Sylhet DC office staff suspended for taking bribe

  Shahidul Islam Chowdhury, additional deputy commissioner of Sylhet, confirmed the suspension of Azizur Rahman. A team of ACC detained Azizur in possession with the bribe money on February 9. At that time, staffs of Sylhet DC office attacked the ACC officials that left ACC Deputy Director Ranjit Karmakar and Constable Misbah Uddin Ahmed Chowdhury injured. The ACC filed a general diary with Kotwali police over the attack. Following an order from the Cabinet Division, Sylhet Divisional Commissioner Dr Nazmanara Khanom formed a five-member committee to investigate the incident.
