
Robbers looted valuables including cash, gold ornaments and mobile phone sets from at least 25 vehicles near Ghoramara bridge in Chuadanga’s Alamdanga upazila on Sunday night.
Witnesses said a group of seven to eight robbers put barricade on the road by felling roadside trees around 9:30pm and looted valuables from the passengers of the vehicles.
Three people including the driver of a bus and helper of a truck were injured during the robbery.
Bus driver Shamim Hossain alleged that a patrol team of police supposed to be on duty in the area at that time but no policeman was seen during the robbery.
We are investigating the matter, Chuadanga Additional Police Super Toriqul Islam said, adding that necessary action would be taken if any policeman was found guilty.
