Update : 04 Apr 2017, 05:28 PM
Police have filed a case over the raid at Moulvibazar’s Borohat militant hideout where three militants died in Operation Maximus. Moulvibazar Police Super Mohammad Shah Jalal told the Dhaka Tribune that the case was filed under the Anti-Terrorism Act on Tuesday. Police had cordoned off the Borohat den since March 30, as militants had planted IEDs throughout the building. The female militant at the Borohat den hurled two grenades at SWAT soon after the raid started on March 31.

After the end of Operation Maximus, the security forces on April 1 recovered the bodies of three militants from the hideout – two males and a female. On the other hand, seven including four children died during the raid at the Nasirpur militant hideout in Operation Hit Back. As family members refused to accept the bodies, Moulvibazar Municipality authorities buried them on Monday. Moulvibazar is the hometown of militant Maj (sacked) Syed Ziaul Haq, the man behind the targeted killings of secular writers, bloggers and activists last year.
