Social networking giant Facebook has agreed to verify the pages of all members of Bangladesh Parliament, says State Minister for Posts and Telecommunications Tarana Halim.
The decision was taken on March 30, when Tarana met Facebook’s South and Central Asia officials.
“Now, we will send the urls of the pages to Facebook authorities for verification,” she told the media in Dhaka on Monday.
“Facebook authorities will also join hands with the government to stop violence against women,”
“They have accepted our proposals and assured to fulfil all the demands,” she added.
A Home Ministry team will visit Facebook’s Singapore office soon to talk over several issues including cyber crimes and fake IDs.
