Biman Bangladesh Airlines Managing Director and CEO Mosaddique Ahmed has said if the current trend of flight cancellation continues, transportation for Hajj pilgrims will be tough.
“But people need not be afraid. We hope the situation will not further deteriorate. If all the concerned stakeholders cooperate, we will overcome the crisis,” the Biman CEO added in a briefing at the Kurmitola head office on Wednesday.
He also vowed to do everything possible to overcome the crisis.

Meanwhile, Biman lost Tk40 crore revenue for cancelling 19 dedicated Hajj flights due to a lack of pilgrims.
Mosaddique Ahmed said the airlines would demand compensation from those who were responsible for cancellations.
“We have 12 flights in the next four days. Three flights are at a risk of cancellation,” he added.
