
Durga Puja, the biggest religious festival of the Hindu community, has begun at temples across the country on Tuesday.
The five-day festival starts with “bodhon” (incarnation) of the Goddess Durga; while the festival will come to an end with the immersion of the idols of the goddess in rivers and water bodies across the country on October 30.

Adequate security measures had already been taken in puja pandals countrywide.
Draped in new dresses, a large number of devotees of all ages have started to throng in the city pandals, particularly at Dhakeshwari National Temple, and offer prayers before Durga – seeking divine blessings for peace, prosperity and welfare of the country and its people.
Meanwhile, President Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina have separately conveyed their greetings to the members of the country's Hindu community for this occasion.
