
A Bangladeshi man won the first-ever “Under 30 Impact Challenge” for his company at the Forbes Under 30 Summit in Boston, USA on Monday.
Minhaj Chowdhury, cofounder and CEO of Drinkwell, has won $500,000 – beating “some tough competition,”
Forbes reports.
Drinkwell's technology provides more than one million litres of safe drinking water to over a quarter million people, with zero reported cases of arsenicosis or fluorosis, reports Forbes.
The company has generated 500 jobs thus far. Minhaj also earned a spot on Forbes’ 30 Under 30 list in 2015.
According to Forbes, Drinkwell qualifies for up to $250,000 in investment from The Rise Fund, and a $250,000 media grant from Forbes.
The company will also receive consulting from The Bridgespan Group – a nonprofit focused on social entrepreneurs.
