CJ only needs the president’s signature to go abroad

Update : 11 Oct 2017, 03:26 PM
After the Cabinet Division met on Wednesday to approve the purchase of 100,000 tons of rice from Myanmar, the law minister announced that he and the prime minister had approved Chief Justice SK Sinha’s leave. Anisul Huq, minister for law, justice and parliamentary affairs, said: “Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and I have approved the application. It now only needs the president’s signature. "Every government employee needs a government order to go abroad," the law minister said. President Abdul Hamid is currently in Kishoreganj. He will return to Dhaka later in the afternoon. Once the president has signed off on the application, Chief Justice Sinha will be able to go abroad. The chief justice asked for a month-long leave last week, citing ailing health. He and his wife were granted the Australian visa for three years.
