
Singer Bangladesh Limited and Brac have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to launch the joint project "Abolombon." Through the initiative, 5,000 underprivileged women across Bangladesh will receive free tailoring skill development training.
Singer Bangladesh Limited Chairman Gavin J Walker and Brac Executive Director Mohammad Mamdudur Rashid signed the MoU on January 15. Brac Founder and Chairperson Sir Fazle Hasan Abed, Singer World Corporation President and CEO Stephen H Goodman, Singer Bangladesh MD and CEO Mr MHM Fairoz were present at the ceremony, among others.
Under the “Singer-Brac Abolombon” program, 5,000 women below the poverty line will receive free tailoring training at 20 Brac locations across the country. Participants will receive all learning materials as well as accessories needed for tailoring free of cost.
The aim of the initiative is to enable beneficiaries to earn using their newly acquired tailoring skills and thus bring a positive change to their livelihood.
