The probe body involves Prof Dr Abdul Gani of chemistry as its head, Prof Saidul Islam of the same department and Prof Dr Shahidur Rahman of computer science and engineering, SUST Vice Chancellor Prof Farid Uddin Ahmed told the Dhaka Tribune.
On Saturday afternoon, Foyzur Rahman Faizul, a local hawker who also claimed to be a madrasa student, stabbed Zafar Iqbal, head of the department of electrical and electronic engineering (EEE) at SUST, during a ceremony on the SUST campus.
Consultant Surgeon General Maj Gen Munshi Muhammad Mujibur Rahman of Combined Military Hospital said: “Zafar Iqbal has suffered six wounds – four in the neck and one each in the back and left arm. The wounds are all flesh wounds, and are not severe.”
A medical team cleansed the wounds to prevent any infection and Prof Zafar’s condition is now stable, he added.
