Chhatra League in support of increasing maximum recruitment age for govt jobs
Bangladesh Chhatra League have pledged their support to the countrywide movement for raising the maximum recruitment age for government jobs. Some Chhatra League leaders have provided their reasons behind backing this movement. Sabina Akter Sheuly, vice president of Chhatra League, said: “As per the constitution of Chhatra League, students can be a part of its politics in college and university up to the age of 29. “Many students look for government jobs after completing their academic education, but it is difficult to prepare for government jobs within one year. If the maximum recruitment age is increased, it will be helpful for Chhatra League members,” she added. Awami Jubo League Chairman Mohammad Omar Faruk Chowdhury said: “The youth of the country do not just want jobs, they want to prove their merits. “There is no reason as to why the maximum recruitment age for government jobs cannot be over 30 years,” he added. This comes in the wake of widespread protests to bring large-scale reforms to the process of entry into government jobs.
