Dhaka, Tashkent to usher in a new era of bilateral relations

State Minister for Foreign Affairs Md Shahriar Alam had an official meeting with the Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov Khafizovich to reinvigorate the current bilateral relations. They met on Wednesday morning in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, hoping to facilitate prospects of new avenues and sectors for the mutual benefit of the two countries. They discussed various agreements which could be undertaken by the two countries. Shariar Alam briefed him about the recent development achievements and activities of the government under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and graduation from the LDC status. He also briefed him of the development and the actions taken by Bangladesh in providing refuge to the forcibly displaced Rohingyas from Myanmar and thanked him for the support. Resuming the Uzbek Air flight to Dhaka, facilitating issuance of visa and opening of the Uzbek Mission in Bangladesh were some key tpoics that were also discussed.
