Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Saturday greeted all freedom fighters of the country on the occasion of Pohela Baishakh, the first day of Bangla New Year 1425.
As in previous years, the prime minister sent flowers, fruits and sweetmeats to the war-wounded freedom fighters and families of the martyrs at Martyred and War-wounded Freedom Fighters' Rehabilitation Centre (Muktijoddha Tower-) at Mohammadpur in Dhaka.
Hasina’s assistant private secretary Saifuzzaman Shikhar, deputy press secretary Ashraful Alam Khokan and assistant press secretary Emrul Kayas handed over the items in the morning.
The freedom fighters expressed gratitude to the premier for remembering them on every national day and festival such as Independence Day, Victory Day and Pohela Baishakh.
They also thanked her for undertaking numerous steps for their rehabilitation, including the construction of Muktijoddha Tower-1(a 13- storey residential-cum-commercial building) at Mohammadpur.
