President Abdul Hamid, in his message, extended his greetings and good wishes to countrymen and the people of the world on the occasion of holy Eid-ul-Fitr.

“Eid-ul-Fitr brings the message of happiness after the month-long fasting and practice of self-restraint during Ramadan. Eid is a joyous occasion for Muslims. Let joy spread among all parts of Bengal,” he said.

The president said people irrespective of their classes and professions who live in the big cities return to their loved ones in the villages to develop bond of harmony, amity and unity amongst themselves.

Noting that Islam is a religion of peace and welfare, the President said, “There is no place for hatred, spite, violence, or localism in Islam. It upholds the spirit of human values, mutual coexistence, absolute tolerance, and equality,” the president said.

He hoped that the essence and inherent significance of Islam for human emancipation would widen further, and the world be filled with peace and amicability.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in her message hoped that the practice of self-purification, restraint, amity, and harmony of the Muslims in their personal, family, social, and occupational lives would spread everywhere.

“After the month-long self-restraint, Eid-ul-Fitr has brought the message of happiness and I would like to convey my greetings to the people of the country and the world on this occasion,” she said.

The prime minister said Eid teaches peace and a sense of fellowship and fraternity, and helps people bond with equality, friendship, and harmony, forgetting hatred and violence.
