Banglalink launches ‘NextTuber Season 2’

Banglalink NextTuber, Bangladesh's first digital reality show, has started accepting applications for the second season of the show.

Banglalink, a leading digital communications service provider in Bangladesh, partnering with Bongo BD, has launched Banglalink Next Tuber Season 2, to groom and raise the new generation of video content creators of the country, and to inspire them to fulfill their ambitions.

Representatives of the organizing companies officially launched the show at the Dhaka's Krishibid Institution of Bangladesh on Wednesday.

Acting Chief Commercial Officer of Banglalink, Ritesh Kumar Singh, said:  “Our aim is to empower the youth of the country with various digital initiatives.”

“After the success of the first season of NextTuber in attracting and helping video content creators in Bangladesh, we were motivated to run the show for a second season,” Ritesh added, explaining that they hoped to help more content creators succeed in the future.

Registration will be open till October 4.

The jury panel for this season of the show will include celebrity YouTubers Tamim Mridha and Shouvik Ahmed, actor Iresh Zaker, and actress Dilara Hanif Purnima.

Speaking about their partnership with Banglalink for the show, Chief Operating Officer of Bongo BD, Karel Kuipéri, said they were very proud to be a part of the vision of NextTuber.

“We will take the winners of the competition under our wing and give them tips, tricks, and training, so they can produce even better content in the future,” explained Kuipéri.   

The TV and radio partners for this season will be NTV and ABC Radio, respectively.

Three winners will be selected at the competition. The first prize winner will be awarded Tk3 lakh, the second prize winner will get Tk2 lakh, and the third prize winner,Tk1 lakh.

Additionally, all three winners will get a 6-month internship offer to work with Banglalink and get the opportunity to participate in three shows sponsored by the company, each consisting of four episodes.

The winners will also be taken for a trip to Google's Asia-Pacific headquarters in Singapore. 

Among others, Chief Corporate and Regulatory Affairs Officer of Banglalink, Taimur Rahman, their head of E-Marketing and Digital, Mukit Ahmed, and representatives of NTV and ABC radio were also present at the event.

This is a talent hunt contest on video content – an initiative, unlike any before in Bangladesh.
