Shipping Minister Shahjahan Khan said the general polls will be held on schedule as per the Constitution
Inquiring about the true identity of those trying to destabilize Bangladesh using the name of students’ movement, Shipping Minister Shahjahan Khan has spoken in favour of an investigation on the matter.
He made the statement in a view exchange program with local activists of Awami League and Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JSD), businessmen, freedom fighters, workers’ leaders, and journalists, in the Panchagarh Circuit House auditorium on Friday.
Addressing the program, Shahjahan Khan said: “Who are the protesters, who pinned defaming statements about Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on their chests, during the students’ movement?”
He also said the parliamentary election will be held on schedule as per the Constitution.
Responding to a query, he said: “BNP has a habit of supporting groups with anti-liberation sentiments, such as razakars and Al-Badr. So, there is no chance for holding a discussion with the BNP.”
Panchagarh 1 Constituency Lawmaker Nazmul Haque Prodhan, Panchagarh 2 Constituency Lawmaker Nurul Islam Sujan, Bangladesh Land Port Authority Chairman Tapan Kumar Chakravorty were present at the program among many others.
