Even though he has been in his district many times before, this time he returns as a candidate for the parliamentary elections from Awami League’s decorated electoral symbol ‘boat’.
People of Narail have been awaiting the star cricket’s appearance all Saturday morning in Kalna Ghat.
Mashrafe, also known as the ‘Narail Express’ reached his home town in a decorated boat at Kalna Ghat, where eager fans and supporters gathered to show their support.
The pressure from overwhelming crowds of fans and supporters put him in quite an uneasy situation.
He then apologized to his supporters for arriving late at stage prepared in Kalna Ghat area.
He took part in several street rallies in his motorcade. Then he sought votes for ‘boat’ after joining the meetings in Laxmipasha, Arenda, Dattapara and Nakshi.
After his motorcade reached Narail around 5pm in the evening, he paid homage at the old terminal presenting a wreath at the portrait of Bangabandhu.
He then held a meeting with the party leaders in the district Awami League office.
