Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has paid tributes to the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and four national leaders, marking the Jail Killing Day.

The four national leaders are Tajuddin Ahmad, Syed Nazrul Islam, Captain Mansur Ali, and AHM Qamaruzzaman.

The prime minister placed wreaths at the portrait of Bangabandhu in front of the Bangabandhu Memorial Museum at Dhanmondi on Sunday morning, reports UNB.

She first laid a wreath at the portrait of Bangabandhu as the prime minister of Bangladesh, around 7am.

After placing the wreath, she stood there in solemn silence for some time, as a mark of profound respect to the memories of the national leaders.

Later, flanked by central leaders of the party, Sheikh Hasina placed another wreath as the president of Awami League at the portrait of Bangabandhu.

On this day in 1975, the killers of Bangabandhu stormed into the Dhaka Central Jail in the early hours and killed the four national leaders, who led the Liberation War in the absence of Bangabandhu in 1971 and brought victory for the nation.
