People can check whether they are Covid-19 patients or not using the app

Posts and Telecommunications Division (PTD) has launched an app called “Corona Identifier” to let people know about Covid-19 affected patients immediately and raise awareness.

According to a PTD press release on Sunday, the app will help people know the latest data regarding the intensity of coronavirus spread in their communities, while also informing them about the presence of any Covid-19 patients in the area, reports BSS.

Moreover, people can check whether they are Covid-19 patients or not using the app.

To do this, an X-rayed image of a person’s chest has to be uploaded to the app and it will provide a result within few minutes.

Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology Minister Mustafa Jabbar said the app will help people by providing them with Covid-19 transmission information and identify the people who are in quarantine.

“Our research and development team is working relentlessly to ensure the credibility of the app,” he added.

State-owned mobile phone operator Teletalk has been assigned to operate the app with technical support from Radisson Digital Technologies Ltd, said the press release.

The app will be available on the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store soon.

Meanwhile, many people have already started using the app from this address: http://coronaidentifier.teletalk.com.bd/
