The National Moon Sighting Committee will meet on Friday to look over moon sighting reports to determine the beginning of the holy month of Ramadan.
The meeting will be held in the Islamic Foundation conference room at Baitul Mukarram National Mosque in Dhaka on Friday evening.
Religious Affairs State Minister Sheikh Md Abdullah, also the chief of the National Moon Sighting Committee, will preside over the meeting.
The committee has also requested people to call the following telephone numbers or notify the district deputy commissioners or upazila nirbahi officers instantly upon seeing the moon from anywhere in the country.

If the moon is sighted on Friday, Ramadan will begin from Saturday.
