The directive follows various reports of crowding in kitchen markets with utter disregard for social distancing guidelines
The Ministry of Land has directed local administrations of all districts to take steps to shift kitchen markets from their current, often congested, locations to more open places in a bid to contain the spread of coronavirus.
The ministry sent letters to all districts on Sunday, conveying this directive, said a press release on Sunday, reports UNB.
District administrations were asked to take help from market management committees, local health department officials, and law enforcers to ensure that sellers and buyers maintain social distancing in the marketplace, said the release.
The directive follows various reports of crowding in kitchen markets with utter disregard for social distancing guidelines.
