Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested a teenager with 140 grams (700 puriya) of heroin in Dhaka.
Aminul Islam,16, was arrested in front of Sadek Khan Krishi Market in Rayer Bazaar under Mohammadpur police station on Sunday.
Confirming the matter, RAB-2 Assistant Director Jahid Hasan said the teenager is involved with drug dealers.
Acting on a tipoff, RAB conducted a raid in the area on Sunday and arrested Aminul in the evening that day. They recovered 140 grams of the opioid drug from his possession.
However, his accomplices managed to flee the scene, Jahid added.
“Aminul, during the primary interrogation, said he and his accomplices have been involved in the heroin business for a long time. He revealed a lot of important information which will be verified,” the RAB official said.
RAB-2 will continue with such operations in the future, he added.
