A total of 313 Bangladeshi citizens have returned home from Kuwait on two special flights.
A special flight of Kuwait Airways, carrying 185 Bangladeshis, landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) in Dhaka at around 8pm on Tuesday, said Group Captain AHM Touhid-ul Ahsan, director of the airport.
An hour later, another special flight of Jajeera Airways carrying 128 Bangladeshis nationals landed at around 9:01pm, the airport director added.
These Bangladeshi nationals had been stranded in Kuwait due to travel restrictions to contain the Covid-19 pandemic.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has so far facilitated the repatriation of many Bangladeshi citizens stranded abroad, including pilgrims, students, tourists, patients and their attendants and businessmen.
