31 Bangladeshis return home from India

Most of them went there for medical treatment

As many as 31 Bangladeshis, stranded in Kolkata in India due to the travel restrictions enforced to limit the spread of coronavirus, have returned home.

A special Air India flight carrying the passengers landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 10.48am on Monday.

A top security official of the airport confirmed the matter.

Of the returnees, most went to the neighbouring country for medical treatment, informed the airport official.

Speaking to Dhaka Tribune, Airport Health Officer Dr Shahriar Sajjad said all returnees brought medical certificates from India stating they are Covid-19 negative, and they underwent thermal screening at the airport as well.
